Wasatch Emergency Medical Training

 

 

A sister company to 12 Finger Outdoor Adventure dedicated to providing the public with a solid training in hands on scenario based education in improvised emergency medical care for the wilderness as well as in emergency situations where help is delayed.


Wilderness First Responder

Course is taught in a variety of formats: Consecutive days, two and three week formats (taught evenings and Saturdays)

Wilderness First Responder Re-Certification

Length: 25 Hours

Cost: $249.00


Tuesday March 5th 6-9pm (at UVU)

Saturday March 30th 8am-2pm (in Field Training)

Additional 8 hours from any WFR class dates listed above not included the re-certification dates (March 5th, 7th, and 30th).

Outside of class students will be required to complete 5 hours of patient assessments/readings.


Length: 80 Hours

Format: 50 hours training (taught outdoors) face to face with 30 additional hours (done in scenario based learning) with assignments outside of class training.

Requirements: Participants must pass a written and Practical Exam scoring at least 80% on the written and must show strong competency in assessing, treating, documenting, and decision making with regards to patients and situational needs.

    Re-certification Guidelines: Re-certification must take place within 3 years of certification or re-certification date. (Re-certification course is a 25 hours in length)

Wilderness First Responder Advanced Upgrade/

Wilderness Improvised Techniques for Medical Professionals

This course is designed for Wilderness First Responders as an upgrade and for medical professionals such as EMTs, Nurses, and MD's giving valuable wilderness improvised technique training. The course is taught in beautiful back-country ares with an activity based area of emphasis i.e. (Canyoneering, Rock Climbing, Mountaineering, Mountain Biking,  and Ice Climbing) in which scenario based rescues are preformed and additional activity skill set training is facilitated such as rope skills, anchors, rappelling, etc.

Certifying course designed to help give you a good foundation in back country improvised techniques.

Emergency Preparedness First Aid (Urban Disaster Training)

Designed to give you the skills to provide medical care when help is delayed and improvised techniques are required in an urban environment; such as during a natural disasters or other large scale emergencies. (i.e. Earthquakes, Fires, Floods, Landslides, Tropical Storms, Car Accidents, and other Emergencies).

 

Length: 13 Hours

Cost: $79
