UTAH AVALANCHE COURSES

Avalanche Awareness Training-
This class is designed to give you the fundamental knowledge and skills in avalanche awareness.
You will learn about types of avalanches, terrain and weather factors, route selection, travel
techniques, snow pack evaluation, avalanche evaluation processes, decision making, beacon
rescue and more. This consist of the first half of the Level 1 Certification.

Level 1 Certification Training-
Skills taught during the awareness training will be reinforced as you use these techniques and skill sets to evaluate conditions and build additional confidence making decisions under the instructors supervision. This course goes deeper into risk assessment, snowpack evaluation, and snow metamorphism.

Cost: $170 (Attend the awareness class and set up a time for the second half).

Scheduled Dates: After attending the awareness class we will set up a time for the second session including evening session and day in the field.
